Nancy was a lovely lady and a great conversationalist with lots of tales to tell. We met her just a few years ago over the garden fence as she was doing her constitutional, her daily walk around the block and quickly became friends.
She struck up conversation over the flowers in our front garden and shared a common passion in all things horticulture. We swapped many a tip on how best to avoid slugs, how to prune roses and what best perennials to grow. And she would talk about having been a teacher and how much she loved it. Very often we would chat away and completely lose track of time, at which point she she would say that she'd have to go or John would wonder where she was!
She was just a lovely person. The sort of person who was interesting but also - most importantly- interested in others. We will miss her.
